The two massages are much of the same treatments but referred to in different contexts. The sports massage is not only for sports people, it is for everyone who wants a deep massage!
They both focus on realigning deeper layers of muscle and are especially helpful for chronic and tense areas such as stiff necks, lower back tightness and sore shoulders.
Sports massage uses the same techniques and is typically used before, during and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance. It does this by draining away toxins, reducing swelling and muscle tension, improving flexibility and reducing the risk of injuries.
Although the massages are generally of a firmer pressure, it is fully tailored to each individuals needs, requirements and tolerance levels.
