Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a science-based form of treatment, which plays a vital role in healing, pain relief and rehabilitation following injury. The treatment aims to correct and stimulate the body’s own natural healing processes without the use of medication.

At Nanda Massage & Physiotherapy, we firmly believe that education and advice on how to manage the condition are fundamental to successful treatment. By focusing on these aspects, we aim to keep the number of treatment sessions to a minimum.

Pilates

We also provide one-to-one pilates tuition at our clinic, which is taught by

Nanda Hirani. Nanda is APPI trained in teaching Pilates, alongside being a physiotherapist.

Pilates is a safe, challenging and effective form of exercise. It is low-impact so it is ideal for those with previous injuries, or those who just want to better their general posture. It is a fantastic way to gain a better posture, and at the same time increase your flexibility and muscular strength.

Nanda will tailor your exercises to your needs, so that they are effective for the goal you want to achieve. The exercise plan will also take into consideration your daily activities and fit around your schedule.

Deep Tissue & Sports Massage

Both deep tissue and sports massages focus on realigning deeper layers of muscle and are especially helpful for chronic and tense areas such as stiff necks, lower back tightness and sore shoulders.

Sports massage uses the same techniques and is typically used before, during and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance. It does this by draining away toxins, reducing swelling and muscle tension, improving flexibility and reducing the risk of injuries.

Assisted Stretching

This can be a wonderful add on to your massage therapy, or as a stand alone treatment. We hold so much stress and tension in our muscles, and what better way to release it, than to have someone else to do it for you!

Assisted stretching performed by our professional therapists will give you longer lasting results than if you were to do it yourself, not to mention we can help you stretch areas that are difficult to do on your own.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is based on scientific evidence that shows it has an influence on most of the body’s systems – the nervous system, circulation, muscle tone, hormone outputs, antibody production and allergic responses, as well as the respiratory, urinary, digestive and reproductive systems.

Treatment involves the insertion of very fine sterile needles into specific points on the body to affect the flow of Qi. It is believed to be a flow of energy, which has stagnated causing the imbalance in a person’s body.
